For all of these reasons, I dreamed of wearing braces. I would secretly take the twisties from the bread bag and stick it in the gap between my two front teeth. I would then spread the twisty out and try to make it look like braces. Of course, it didn't. But in my mind, I was fashionable. My eyes sparkled. My teeth looked more white. And I was a "cool" kid. Gazing into the mirror, I was in heaven.
One day, my brother got braces. He became a "cool" kid. His eyes sparkled, his teeth were more white, and he was quite in style. (This is all according to me, when I was 5. :D)
Then my older sister got braces. I was delighted to go anywhere with her, because then maybe people would think that I was cool too. (lol. :P) Her eyes sparkled, her teeth were more white, and, boy, was she fashionable!
One day, I got braces. My eyes do not sparkle. My teeth are not white. They do not make me any more fashionable or cool. And who would've thought: THEY HURT!!!
Braces are not all that they're cracked up to be.
