We've been home from Jamaica for 3 weeks. It was such a special time for all of us that went. We grew closer to each other as friends and family and closer to God. It was so uplifting and inspiring - yet at the same time, so sobering and thought-provoking. We each brought something different back with us...something learned...a favorite story...or even a thought. If you'd like to read more, you can visit my sisters blog: here.
In this post, I'll share some of the other pictures that turned out and a collage of the "lighter side" of our trip...yah, mon! {Jamaican slang...ha!} Trying on the unique headwear...yah, mon! Ionda and Marvin mimicking the pastor...=) {they are some of the deaf people who live at the village} No day was complete without a game of spoons, ultimate spoons, food spoons, or kemps. :) Great memories!
There is a big problem with theft in Jamaica...Don't worry, though! The village hired a nightguard who makes sure all is safe and sound as we sleep. :) Above is the place where he can stay while keeping watch.
If you can see the building in the backround, that is where the women slept...
The beauty of Jamaica.
Everyday, we would help on the worksite for a while, and then after lunch, we (the girls) did a VBS for the kids that live at the village...such fun! Yes, even the work was fun. =)
Tommy painting...

Sanding. The people in Jamaica do it a little differently than we do in the states. When sanding the concrete walls, you go outside, try to find a piece of concrete block that you can get a grip on, and sand away. It was fun to learn a new technique. =)

The sky was perfect.

The Jamaica trip has made such a special mark in my life. A place that I can be reminded of how much God truly cares. How near He is. And how good He is.

I have such fun memories of Jamaica that I hope I will never forget. Hopefully, by posting about our time in Jamaica, I have explained it well enough that I can look back on it and be reminded of God's goodness to our family.

God bless Jamaica.
