Everyday Gifts. {one}

Recently, Mom has been sharing with us some things that she's learned about being thankful. She was reading a book about a lady who faced some very difficult things in life and was having a hard time being thankful and having a joyful spirit. So, this lady decided to start a book where she recorded the little blessings in her life.

Turns out that in one year, she had recorded one thousand gifts. While she was doing this, she realized that it changed her whole attitude and outlook on life! Instead of feeling depressed, she was feeling so blessed, because she was scribbling down the everyday gifts in her life!

So, this fall, I've been inspired to look for the gifts that God gives me each day! Since today is one week from Thanksgiving, maybe I'll post once a day until then and share some of the everyday blessings I find.
  • the sun streaming through my window when I wake up.
  • "turtle bars" melting in my mouth.
  • the imperfect red heart my brother lovingly drew on my hand. :)
  • rolling down the windows while driving down the road with my sisters and listening to good music.
  • steaming coffee at Starbucks.
  • laughing at everything with good friends.
  • numb toes and a red nose.
Have a blessed day!
