Thanksgiving was meant to be a day of rest and remembrance. A day out of the ordinary to enjoy good food and reflect on the many blessing that we have been given over the past year. Why have I tried to hurry through it so many times to get to the excitement of Christmas?
If you went into Wal-Mart today, you would probably not be able to find one fall decoration. Christmas trees, jingling bells, lights for stringing, and peppermint sticks cover the shelves. As exciting as all of that is, I think that we should be sure to take one day of reflection before jumping into it all.
Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas. It's one of my favorite times of the year! I just want to be careful this week to let a thankful heart be my focus, instead of a full shopping cart. :)

Now, on to today's blessings. :)
- pumpkin-pecan spice coffee creamer.

- a new "fort" in the woods made by my younger siblings. (with a little help from Dad. :D)
- helping Mom bake in the kitchen.
- biscoff cookies dipped in milk.

- washing dishes with Dad.
- talks with my family at the dinner table.
